A True Super Food! Loaded with nutrients and anti-oxidants:
Rich in organic vitamins, minerals, proteins, amino-acids and anti-oxidants

Spirulina was called the “best food of the future” by the World Food Conference.  However, it after NASA added Spirulina to the astronauts diet it became officially recognized worldwide as a "superfood"!

There are countless scientific studies confirming the healthy properties of this super-food!  Not only does Spirulina provide large amounts of vitamins, minerals, proteins & amino acids, it also contains extremely strong antioxidants!  In fact, Spirulina is one of only a few substances in the world proven to be able to remove heavy metal toxins from the human body!

Vitamins and Minerals: Spirulina powder contains high levels of vitamins B (including B1, B2 and B9), C, D and E. It also provides a highly digestible form of iron (which is great for vegetarians & vegans). Scientific studies have shown spirulina may also help treat nutritional disorders such as anemia by increasing hemoglobin content in red blood cells. It has about 26X the amount of calcium as milk and is high in magnesium, potassium and copper.

Powerful Anti-Oxidants: Spirulina has an ORAC score over 24,000 (4x that of blueberries)! It reduces free radical damage and cellular oxidation...leading to better health, more energy and less fatigue. Higher endurance levels can make workouts more productive, leading to increased weight loss. Spirulina also is a heavy metal detox agent (arsenic levels were drastically reduced in tests).  It is one of only a handful of substances on the planet proven to be able to remove heavy metals from the body! It also provides beta-carotene & chlorophyll (a powerful blood builder).

Proteins and Amino Acids: Living Traditionally Spirulina is a great source of highly usable and digestible proteins and 9 essential amino acids. Great for vegetarians, vegans and athletes (it increases energy, endurance and muscle strength). Spirulina also provides the essential fatty acid GLA and is high in Omega’s 3, 6, and 9!

Cholesterol and Blood Sugar Management: Spirulina has been shown to lower blood sugar levels and HbA1c levels. It also may help lower triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL levels.

Increases Immunity and Digestion: Spirulina is loaded with immune system fortifying vitamins & minerals.  It also can help treat candida and yeast infections (candida is a hallmark sign of autoimmune disease). Spirulina can help prevent leaky gut syndrome, reduce acidity in the gut and help lower risks of certain infections.

 Common Spirulina Uses:

  • Detox / Reduce Toxins and Heavy Metals: Due to the high antioxidant level of Spirulina, it is great for reducing toxins and metals that accumulate in our body due to environmental conditions and a diet full of processed foods. This neuroprotective reduction of toxins can even help reduce symptoms associated with Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s.

  • Diabetes and Cholesterol Management: Spirulina has been shown to lower blood sugar levels and even HbA1c levels. It also has been shown to lower triglyceride and LDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL levels.

  • Weight Loss: Spirulina has been shown to increase fat burning and weight loss during exercise. Because it reduces oxidative stress on muscles, it helps prevent muscle fatigue and damage while increasing endurance.

  • Vegetarians and Vegans: Due to large levels of highly usable proteins and amino acids, Spirulina is a great way to get these essential nutrients without compromising vegan dietary requirements.

How to Use:   Add 1 tablespoon (about 7 grams) to water, juice, smoothies, soups, dips, sauces, etc. or even sprinkle directly on food to increase its nutritional value. Blends well with Wheatgrass Powder and Turmeric.

Great product,,, but this should be on the package or at least on the website. When Not to Take Spirulina
Some people are allergic to the iodine contained in spirulina, and you should talk to your doctor before self-medicating with it. This is especially important if you have a thyroid condition because too much iodine can be harmful for those with hyperthyroidism -- an overactive thyroid -- as well as those with Hashimoto's disease, an immune system-related thyroid disorder. People who are most likely to benefit from spirulina are those with hypothyroidism or subclinical hypothyroidism, but even these people need to be careful, especially if they eat a lot of iodine-rich foods. A study published in 2012 in the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" found that while iodine usually helps stimulate the thyroid, too much iodine -- more than about 800 micrograms per day -- can actually cause the thyroid to become less active. Most people don't know this, it's important they be informed!!!!
